SAFETY

Purpose:	It is the purpose of the Safety Department at Truck Rail Transport to maintain total compliance with all the Federal, State, County, and Local Laws while conducting the Intermodal Transportation of our authorized commodities and to achieve this in the absolute safest and most responsible manner. The result of this practice will assure our drivers, our customers, and other motorists the best possible environment to work, conduct business, and to drive as our partners on the highway.
Driver Selection:	We at Truck Rail Transport require our drivers to exercise every possible precaution by driving defensively and avoiding involvement in any accident. Our aggressive driver qualifications are meant to assure that we utilize only competent drivers in safe equipment. These qualifications pertain to both contract drivers, as well as to company drivers. Current, valid commercial drivers license (CDL) with Haz Mat endorsement Supply a current motor vehicle driving record (MVR), not to be over thirty (30) days old No more than three (3) moving citations or accidents in the last three years or two (2) in the last twelve (12) months No reckless driving or DUI convictions Must be at least 21 years of age Successfully complete an application in its entirety, interview and reference check Hold a current DOT medical card and long form Be able to attend quarterly safety meetings
Leased Equipment Selection:	There is not a manufacture limitation placed on the tractors we lease at Truck Rail Transport. All equipment must be in good appearance/repair (capable of passing all Federal Department of Transportation Inspections), clean, tandem axle and reliable for dispatch direction.
